Mariánské Laznì, or perhaps better known as Marienbad, is another of those wonderful delights that West Bohemia has to offer the discerning traveller. Somewhat smaller than it’s sister spa town, Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Laznì caters to a somewhat more exclusive clientele, but should be enjoyed by all. Situated on the edge of the Slavkov Forest, Mariánské Laznì is an emporium of 39 thermal springs that offer the wellness seeker rich and luxurious options.

In the town one can drink and bathe, but the area offers one the chance for a little bit of nature as well. Many hiking trails that weave in and around the Slavkov Forest, as well as cycling paths and the fresh, clean air complement any more traditional spa program. Founded in the 19th century by a local physician, Mariánské Laznì has hosted some of Europe’s most celebrated people, none probably as famous, as the English King, Edward VII, who in 1905 brought great acclaim and even founded the country’s most prestigious golf course, the Royal Golf Club Mariánské Laznì.
A town that offers all this and more, Mariánské Laznì is the perfect place to find a little peace of heaven. Located in the West Bohemian Spa Triangle, it is a place that should be savored just as much as the local „Oplatky.“
